New faces and former juniors commit to The Fog for 2021

November 2, 2020

Moonee Valley FC is pleased to announce six more players who have committed to pulling on the black and white for 2021.

Senior Coach Shanon Carroll had the following to say on each player:

Phil Lobb – A power forward who is a prolific goal kicker and has kicked 96 goals in his last 28 games, Lobby comes to the FOG via Golden Rivers club Nullawil. With the ability to take a strong contested mark while also bringing team mates into the play, Lobby will definitely be a massive worry for opposition teams.

Mitch Collins – Quick, elusive, and a good football brain is how you would describe Mitch. Coming to the FOG via Modewarre F.C in the Bellarine League, Mitch was definitely an eye catcher in our only practice match for 2020 kicking 4 goals from half forward while rolling through the midfield.

Jordan Whybrow – A massive engine with classy skills the former Calder Cannon comes to the FOG via Aberfeldie FC and has quickly settled at Ormond Park. Known for his clear thinking under pressure and ability to break tackles to deliver the ball, Jordy will be quite the asset for Moonee Valley moving forward.

Anthony Young – Youngy comes to the FOG via Jacana FC and is renown for his fierce attack on the ball. With the ability to play in multiple positions, Young puts some serious fear into opposition forwards when given a job on some potent opposition forwards. No doubt Youngy will be raring to go again in season 2021 and this time wearing the iconic prison bars.

Jaycob Doyal – Jaycob is a former Moonee Valley junior who ventured off in recent years and concentrated on life duties as well as having a kick with UniHigh in the VAFA. With the thought of one day returning to the FOG, Jaycob has certainly done it in a big way. With his body size not recognisable to some on his first night back, Jaycob is certain to put the fear into opposition sides when he runs through packs and did so in our practice match. Look out if we have a Moonee Valley player calendar.

Bevan Newell – Another returning player to the FOG is Bevan Newell. Having gained experience at past clubs Coburg (VFL,) Premier club Pascoe Vale and more recently Hillside, Bevan himself confesses he can see the excitement and pending success we at the FOG can feel and simply wants to be part of it. Bevan has a smart football brain and is a very clear thinker that obviously matches his ability on the field.
