The Moonee Valley Football Club is an Australian Rules Football Club and has enjoyed a long and distinguished history as a member of theEssendon District Football League
The club was founded in 1933, playing and winning their first match in April of that year. The club now fields many teams each weekend, from Under 8's through to open age senior and reserve men's and women's teams.
The senior men's side was particularly strong during the early 1950s, winning its only A Grade flag to date in 1952. It was also particularly successful throughout the 1990's. After winning the B Grade premiership in 1994 the seniors acquitted themselves a position in the A Grade and finished 4th in 1995.
One of the most noteworthy seasons in the Valley's history came in 1999 when the seniors won the B Grade premiership and held their own in A Grade for the next few seasons. In recent years the seniors have played in Division 2 were they have participated in finals the last five years.
